Privacy Policy for InpToMac

Sajjad Amin (“we,” “us,” or “our”) built the InpToMac app as a Free application. This SERVICE is provided by Sajjad Amin at no cost and is intended for use as is.

Companion Application Note: InpToMac for Android is a client application. To use this service, you must download and install the companion macOS server application on your Mac. The macOS application can be downloaded for free from our official GitHub repository: InpToMac for macOS.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

1. Information Collection and Use

InpToMac is designed with strict privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, analytics, or usage statistics to any external servers.

The core functionality of the app relies entirely on your Local Area Network (LAN/Wi-Fi). All text data injected from this application is sent directly to your configured macOS machine over your local network. No data ever leaves your local network or passes through our servers.

2. Required Permissions and Device Data

To function correctly, InpToMac requires specific on-device permissions. Here is how we use them:

Camera Permission: We request camera access solely for the purpose of scanning QR codes generated by the InpToMac macOS application. This allows for quick local network pairing. No images or videos are recorded, saved, or uploaded. The scanning happens entirely on your device.
Local Network & Wi-Fi State: The app uses local network permissions (mDNS/Bonjour) to automatically discover macOS devices running the InpToMac server on the same Wi-Fi network.
Local Storage: The app saves your paired Mac device details (such as Device Name, Local IP/Port, and Authentication PIN/Password) locally on your Android device. This data is never backed up to our cloud or shared with any third party.

3. Third-Party Services

The app does NOT use any third-party services, trackers, analytics tools, or advertising networks that may collect information used to identify you.

4. Security

We value your trust in providing us with your local configuration details. The communication between the Android app and your macOS device occurs directly over your local network. We recommend ensuring your local Wi-Fi network is secure (e.g., using WPA2/WPA3 encryption) to protect the data transmitted between your devices.

5. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
